JOHN CIPOLLA

Dr. John Cipolla is Associate Professor of Music at Western Kentucky University (clarinet & saxophone) and President of The International Clarinet Association.

 

He has been a New York City woodwind player for many years–including maintaining a long tenure as clarinetist and saxophonist in the woodwind section of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra in New York City.

 

John has also performed and/or recorded with an eclectic array of ensembles and artists ranging from the New York City Opera to performance artist, Meredith Monk to Aretha Franklin. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree (University of North Carolina at Greensboro), the Master of Music degree (Rutgers University) and the Bachelor of Music degree (The Eastman School of Music). He is a Selmer Clarinet and Gonzalez Reed Performing Artist.

 

He commissions and premieres new solo and chamber works, and performs and teaches at schools and festivals both throughout the United States and internationally.
